Chapter 1

ABBA FATHER GIVES GOOD THINGS

"How much more shall your Father, who is in heaven, give good things to them that ask him?" Matthew 7: 11

As a parent I truly enjoy being able to purchase nice things for my son.

It pleases me when I can give him "new" clothes of high quality and proper fit, or nice furniture for his room that meets certain standards.

I take the time to shop for good quality and price value. I don’t just purchase the first item I see in the store. I analyze the items carefully. I compare until I get quality as well as the correct size.

In other words, I care enough to take the time and energy to provide my son with the best I can afford. The selected items will only benefit him. They will not hurt him.

I PAY THE PRICE AND HE ENJOYS THE BLESSINGS.

                                         JUST LIKE ABBA  FATHER.

When my son asks me for something I don’t just give it to him, or supply the funds to purchase it immediately. I consider the thing that he wants first.

I ask myself questions like, "Is it good for my son to have this item?" or "Will it harm him in any way?" "What do I know about this item?" "What experience have I had?"

ONLY IF AN OBJECT MEETS MY STANDARDS DO I GIVE IT TO MY SON.

JUST LIKE ABBA  FATHER.

Even when my son asks for a "big" item, I, as a parent want him to have it. However, it may take time to get the funds together to purchase it. I may have to transfer the funds from one account to another account. I just look at my budget and begin looking at the timing. I am willing to sacrifice in order for my son to benefit – even if it is just an item he wants and could live without. I like to give extras to my child.

I LIKE MY CHILD WALKING IN ABUNDANCE IN BIG WAYS.

JUST LIKE ABBA  FATHER.

As a parent, I prepare ahead of time for my son’s future needs such as cars, college, savings accounts, etc.

However, my son did not receive a car until he could legally drive it. It would not have been a good gift if he had to break the law to use it. Therefore, I watch carefully my son’s growth and development.

I ONLY GIVE GOOD THINGS TO MY SON AS HE IS ABLE TO BE BLESSED BY THEM.

JUST LIKE ABBA  FATHER.

I will not put a stumbling block in his way -- for you see, I’m watching his footsteps.

MY ATTENTION IS FOCUSED ON HIM 24 HOURS A DAY.

    JUST LIKE ABBA  FATHER.

I AM DAILY GIVING TO HIM OUT OF MY WEALTH IN ORDER FOR HIM TO PROSPER.

JUST LIKE ABBA  FATHER.

I love my son. There are no "hidden requirements." There are no ulterior motives involved in my giving.

MY ONLY PURPOSE IN GIVING GOOD THINGS IS TO BLESS MY SON.

JUST LIKE ABBA  FATHER.

PRAYER

Dear Abba Father,

Help me to always remember that just like I would not give my child something that would hurt him, neither will You give me anything that will be harmful.

As I ask for help to follow You I know that You will make sure all my steps are safe and secure. You will destroy any enemies in my path.

As I trust You to lead me in all my ways, I believe that You will make sure that I walk through the correct "Open Door" – even if You have to hold my hand and walk me through it – to make sure I get it right.

As I trust You to prepare me, I believe that You will not let me miss Your calling. You will cause me to hear Your voice. You will do what it takes to get my attention.

As I ask for Your will to be done, then You will not give me "the enemy’s" will in my life.

Help me to always realize that You are "for me" and not against me---- that it pleases You to bless me with good things all my days.

Help me to always expect good at Your Hand.

I ask this in Jesus' Name,

With love,

Your child.
