Fear not because… In the Bible whenever God gives the command to His people to "Fear not" or "Don't be afraid"--He backs it up with Himself. God just doesn't give the command Fear not. Instead, He tells us the second part of the command--why we have no reason to fear. For example, "Fear not little flock for it is the Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." Luke 12.32 A warrior knows that His commander is with him to back up every command given to the warrior. Psalm 23 makes this clear when it states," I will not fear for thou art with me." When the warrior obediently chooses to obey the command "Fear not"--he also receives the phrase that follows the command--where God says what He will do. Here are some more examples from the Bible. (New Testament) "Fear not, daughter of Zion: behold thy King cometh…" John 12.15 "Fear not, Paul…God hath given thee all them that sail with thee." Acts 27.24 "Fear not; I am the first and the last; I am he that liveth, and was dead; and behold I am alive forevermore, Amen, and I have the keys of hell and death.
