Finding God's Will Finding God's will for your life is not difficult--it can be as easy as 1-2-3 I. Ask--(Matthew 7.7 James 4.3) The Bible says you have not because you ask not or you ask amiss (with wrong selfish motives) Simply come to God with a pure and obedient heart (the right motives and the willingness to obey what God tells you) and ask Him to reveal His will for your life. II. Read the Bible-- The Bible is the way God speaks to us --Even if God speaks to you audibly it will never contradict the Bible--God never works apart from His Word. Jesus is the Word made flesh. The Bible is God's will for your life. The more time you spend reading the Word of God (the Bible), the easier it will be to hear God speak to you personally. III. Ask the Holy Ghost to come upon you and empower you to know and do God's will. (Acts 1.8) You must be empowered for service--you must have the anointing to be able to know and do God's will. Whatever God calls you to and wherever He places you-- you will love and it will be easy to do through the anointing. (Holy Spirit and power) After you find God's will for your life --here are a couple of guidelines as you step out. As a Christian whatever God has called you to do-- God will place it in your hand. You will not have to go hunt for it or try to make something happen by your power or intelligence. A simple shepherd's rod in the hand of Moses, became the rod of God, and was used for the deliverance of a nation. A simple little stone in David's hand under God's control took out a giant enemy. Even if God gives you a "big" vision He will get you there one step at a time placing what you need in your hand daily. Each Christian is supernaturally gifted for the position that they occupy in the Body of Christ and it will flow easily. For example, the person with the supernatural gift of teacher will love to teach and will try to make a lesson out of everything that happens to them, even if it is cooking dinner---they just can't think any other way. A person with the gift of helps will always be saying, "May I help you? Do you need anything?" They just love to help and they can't figure out why more people don't get involved in helping. Be alert to what gifts God wants to use through you--don't try to be like someone else--let the Holy Spirit show you who you are in Christ. Remember God does the calling, the anointing, and the equipping (the gifting) for the call. Therefore, God receives all the glory! In Christ, Bobbie |
