  • My pastor told me that if I leave his church and go to another church--I would be out of the will of God--that I was deceived-- and that I would go to hell.  I'm afraid to leave.  What do I do?

This is a spirit of manipulation and witchcraft working through your pastor and a spirit of fear on you.

The Bible says, "...where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty."   ( II Corinthians 3.17)

Command the spirit of fear in Jesus' name to leave you and not return and ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with His love and power. (II Timothy 1.7 states, " For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.")

Leave the church immediately and do not return.

Go to a church where Jesus is Lord.

  • The leaders in my church told me that I did not need to read the Bible--that I would not be able to understand it--and that it was their job to teach the Bible because they were the ones between God and me--that God would tell them and then they would tell me.  Is this okay?

No.  The Bible clearly states to read God's Word for yourself. "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (II Timothy 2.15)

Furthermore, the Bible says that you are to come boldly to the throne of grace. You pray directly to God in Jesus' Name and God will directly speak to you.

The Bible states, "For there is one God, and mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all...  (I Timothy 2.5-6)

Please make sure that you have a personal relationship with God-- that you are born again--this is the only way you can pray through Jesus.  If you are not sure that Jesus lives in you heart as Lord and Savior-- you can ask Him into your heart right now.

Just talk to Jesus and tell Him that you believe He is God's Son and that He died on the cross for your sins and rose again from the dead. Ask Him to please forgive your sins and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness and come and live in your heart--that you want Him to be your Lord and Savior--that you turn away from any other gods and give Jesus full control of your life.

In Christ,

Bobbie
