The modern definition of a missionary is a person who is
chosen by God to travel and share the Gospel (the story of Jesus).
In the Bible many times they were referred to as apostles or prophets.
Some missionaries are called "home
missionaries" because they stay and travel in their own city, state, or country.
Other missionaries are called
"foreign missionaries" because they travel to other (foreign) countries.
