Proverbs 31 Woman by
Bobbie Powers
Chapter 3
Proverbs 31.3b
"Give
not… thy ways to that which destroyeth kings."
Children need advice and guidance all through
their growing up years. However, teenage years seem to be a time when
sound advice and Godly counsel are extremely important.
A mother who has been a Godly counselor (not
criticizer) to her children from their earliest days will continue to hold
this position through their teenage years.
Many times parents can't wait for their children
to grow up and they push them too much. Sometimes parents think that once
a child becomes a teenager that they will automatically step into mature
adulthood decisions on their own. This assumption is dangerous for their
child!
A Proverbs 31 woman realizes that it is her
responsibility to guide her children in the learning of proper sexual and
moral behaviors. She realizes that it is her task to inform and help her
children learn about their adolescent changes and feelings.
The Proverbs 31 woman teaches God's priorities and
rules about sex and marriage. She also prays for her children and the
temptations that face them.
The Godly mother does not say one thing and show
by her actions (the books she reads, the TV shows or movies she watches,
etc.) that she has a different set of standards for herself.
