Proverbs 31 Woman by Bobbie Powers

Chapter 5

Proverbs 31.5 "Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted."

Mothers have the important task of teaching their children the rules of justice and fair play. They must instill the knowledge and discernment of consequences for actions that involve others.

Mothers need to share with their children the consequences of good leadership and the consequences of evil leadership--whether at school, national, or international levels. Children as they grow into teenagers facing adulthood are aware of newspaper headlines and world situations. They need gentle guidance into learning their responsibilities as a voting adult.

The Proverbs 31 woman not only teaches her child social laws and responsibility, but she teaches her children the Bible rules that apply to various social situations.

The Proverbs 31 mother helps her children respect and care for others, as well as helping them discern good and evil following God's rules in the Bible.

Furthermore, the Proverbs 31 mother aids her children in the discernment of the times and the looking for the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. She knows that her children need to "be as wise as serpents, but as harmless as doves".
