Proverbs 31 Woman by  Bobbie Powers

Chapter 6

Proverbs 31.6 "Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that are of heavy hearts."

An important area of a mother's responsibility is that of encouragement. The world is a hard and difficult place in which to grow. Even in the most sheltered of home life situations children still need to be told of their individual potential.

The Proverbs 31 mother takes the time often to tell her children of their individual importance to the family and to God.

She takes the time to encourage her children to try new things. The Proverbs 31 mother allows opportunities for new talents and abilities to emerge. She constantly guards her tongue from negativism and criticism--even in failure.

The Proverbs 31 mother knows the importance of self-confidence built in the Lord. She knows the importance of teaching her children that their abilities come from God and that good stewardship is required in using those abilities.

The Proverbs 31 mother encourages her children to walk closely with the Lord and to follow His leading. She releases her children into the Lord's hands and prays for His will to be done in their lives.
