Proverbs 31 Woman by Bobbie Powers

Chapter 4

Proverbs 31.4 "…it is not for kings to drink wine, nor for princes strong drink,"

Mothers are needed as rule makers in order to help their children make correct decisions about alcohol and drugs. Mothers need to be aware of the social pressures and dangers to their children.

Mothers need to know where their children are, who their friends are, and about their friends parents. Mothers need to make rules about times to be home and their children's responsibilities, such as calling if late, change of plans etc.

The Proverbs 31 woman encourages her children to avoid bad companions. She discusses the best way to handle bad situations that her children may encounter.

She emphasizes the Biblical rules that apply in their family and encourages everyone to follow them. If a rule is broken, discipline may be needed. Forgiveness is shown. There is expectation that the rule breaker has learned a valuable lesson, and will do even better in the future.

The Proverbs 31 woman humbly seeks God's guidance in discipline and sets the example herself. She doesn't let a habit control her, but allows God to set her free, so that she may teach freedom and abstinence through her example to her children. A Godly mother encourages her children to be full of the Holy Spirit and then there will be no need of a "worldly high".
