Proverbs 31 Woman by Bobbie Powers

Chapter 9

Proverbs 31.9 "Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy."

A mother must watch the words of her mouth around her children. She is to be an example every day through the things that she talks about and the words that she uses in various situations.

Children imitate their parents. If a mother does nothing but criticize, then her children will also criticize others. On the other hand, if a mother is kind and gracious, her children will also learn how to be kind and gracious in their speech.

The Proverbs 31 mother realizes that "death and life are in the power of the tongue". She also realizes that there is a time to speak and a time to keep silence.

The Proverbs 31 woman recognizes the value of God's Word and speaks it boldly. She knows that God's Word will never return void but will accomplish all that God sent it to do.

The Proverbs 31 mother watches her words. She is not hasty to utter angry words to her children or to give advice carelessly. Furthermore, she prays for God to control her tongue.

The Proverbs 31 mother knows how to follow the Holy Spirit's guidance in rebuking, exhorting, and claiming God's Word for her family. She has on the full armor of God and knows the power of praise.
