Proverbs 31 Woman by  Bobbie Powers

Chapter 1

Proverbs 31.1 "The words of King Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him."

Prophecy is the testimony of Jesus Christ. It is not only stating the future, but also teaching and explaining by example the meaning of God's Word.

A mother has the privilege and honor of daily teaching her children about God from the time they are born until they become adults and leave home. (At times, even after leaving home, a wise mother's counsel will be remembered and sought by her children.) Teaching and explaining must be in words and actions.

A mother must know the scripture in order to teach it and live it. God must be real in the mother's life in order for the child to see the importance of making a decision for Christ. Children who are taught from infanthood about Jesus tend to be saved at much earlier ages than those children who hear about God occasionally.

A Proverbs 31 woman recognizes the responsibility and spends time with God daily through prayer and Bible study in order that she may be a wise teacher and a Godly example for her children.

In addition, she is willing to take the extra time to share God with her children. She makes time to read and discuss the Bible with them daily.

The Proverbs 31 woman teaches her children the importance of prayer by praying with them daily.

By emphasizing that time with God is a priority---the Proverbs 31 woman is preparing her children to be mighty men and women of God.
