MOTIVES
Proverbs 23.29-30 Do the following things keep happening in your life? Troubles, sorrow, debates and arguments, lack of mouth control, people and situations continually hurting you without a cause, unhappiness, crying often, can’t seem to see things in their right perspective. Check your motives! As a Christian, do you tarry long at the wine, spiritually speaking? In other words, do you go to church, prayer meetings, revivals, etc. to be “blessed”, “blessed”, and “blessed”? Are you a receiver only and not a giver? Are you taking God’s wine in over and over, but are never letting it flow out of you to touch the lives of others? Is your focus on God or on yourself? Are you interested in furthering God’s Kingdom or meeting your desires? As a Christian, do you seek mixed wine? Do you try to enjoy the world and enjoy God? The Bible states that the carnal (fleshly) mind is enmity (an enemy) with God. (James 4.4) The carnal mind cannot submit to God. (Romans 8.7) You don’t want to become an enemy of God. God fights against His enemies and ALWAYS wins! Don’t become an enemy of God by trying to be a Christian on Sunday and acting like the world on Monday. Some things in your life may simply be the result of mixed wine or selfishly tarrying too long at the wine. Remember, spiritual wine can bring great blessing or if used incorrectly can bring great harm! Check out your motives! In Christ, Bobbie
