Set Affections

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. Colossians 3.2

For where your treasure is there will your heart be also. Matthew 6.21

Want to know where your heart is?  Listen to what your mouth talks about.  (Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.)

If your heart is sick--your mouth will show it.( ex. bitterness, anger, grief, self pity, hopelessness)

If your heart is not pure--your mouth followed by your actions will reveal all. ( ex. swearing, immodest dress, coveting possessions, immoral behavior, selfishness, greed)

If you have a fearful or unbelieving heart--your mouth will expose it. Your vocabulary will contain many words of fear, doubt, self preservation, pride, and rebellion against God and authority.

If you are being controlled or hindered by an evil spirit--your words and posture can reveal the presence of and many times the identity of the spirit. (ex. poverty,  insecurity, evil thoughts, lusts, self destructive practices, disease)
