Above all, taking the shield of faith

Above all, taking the shield of faith, with which ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.  Ephesians 6.16

A definition for the word quench is "slake" which means the sound fire makes when it hits water and is put out.

A shield is used to protect a warrior from all direct enemy attacks (fiery darts).

A shield is always placed between the warrior and the enemy weapons.

A shield takes the hits that have been aimed at the warrior.

A shield stops and brings to nothing the direct assault by enemy weapons.

Psalms 84.11 states, "For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory. No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly."

When the Lord God is the warrior's shield and the Lord God is between the warrior and the enemy attacks--the fiery darts cannot kill or injure the warrior.

Jesus has the keys to hell and death--- not the devil.

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2.20

Put ye on the Lord Jesus and make no provision for the flesh…

In Christ,

Bobbie
