Proverbs 31 Woman by Bobbie Powers

Chapter 14

Proverbs 31.14 "She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar."

It is interesting that ships many times bear the names of women. However, ships carry more than just a name. A ship's purpose is to carry cargo and/or passengers. Merchant ships in particular carry usually quite a variety of different items.

The Proverbs 31 woman is to be like a merchant ship. She should be responsible for budgeting and making sure needs are met in her household.

The Proverbs 31 woman should plan healthy menus for her family and then budget the funds to provide the food for these plans.

Spending should not be wasteful or extravagant. Good sound financial planning and budgeting is not to be left in the hands of a husband. The Proverbs 31 wife must be prepared to face financial storms in her journey through life.

She must learn to let the Lord be at the helm of all her financial planning and decisions, for God knows the safe route to take in order for the Proverbs 31 woman's ship to reach safe harbor with a full cargo of blessings for those who need them.
